My creative practice is a guided exploration into the unknown, fueled by discoveries within the process and a quest for novelty. My approach to making is based on the words of Isamu Noguchi, "You can find out how to do something and then do it or do something and then find out what you did." In the beginning I learned to work in ceramics then did so for many years. Later, it was through the ceramic process I explored new materials, allowed myself to make mistakes and ultimately discovered through a sense of curiosity coupled with traditional knowledge I was able to create something anomalistic- something deviating from what is standard, normal or expected.
